In Hibernation

I'm still in Hibernation but here's a nice idea.

Send email to yourself in the future, just like a time capsule, a very interesting idea that could grow. Yes I know you can schedule a reminder in outlook or yahoo in the calendar for the future but this one you can put in and forget and get the email in the future which could be a surprise for you.

Let me pour out a little liquor.

It is a sad day today, I received news that a college friend of ours have passed away. He was involved in a motorcycle accident and unfortunantely he did not make it. I pray for his soul to be at peace and be one with "God". We had good times together and you will be in our hearts and minds.

Here's a little liquor, a toast to your memory and a prayer for you. God Bless you Bryan.

Fit Machine

Fitness Day Monday: Fit Machine

On the physical side, I was not able to do much workout last week due to some "circumstances", I think I was only able to do cardio twice last week, and during the weekend I was not able to do much backyard work either because my machine had issues. Something happened with my PC, I'm pretty sure it was a corrupted windows or a software that was corrupted becuase it reboots everytime I get to windows. I did memory test, modified the bios and all that nerdy stuff but it didn't help so it's pretty obvious that something got corrupted. So I decided to reformat it to cleanup the machine and reinstall everything. It took me around two days (yes two days, sat and sun, my main drive is 200Gig so formatting took forever already) to have it running with all the necessary software installed, from partitioning and re-formatting the drive, installing anti-virus to the personal database that I have running. Good thing is that I have an automated process of backing up all the files that I need into a separate drive so I didn't loose anything important, after the installation and setting up various restore points I ran some test and everything seems to be working fine now. Well I thought it would be around a couple of years before I had to do this but I guess with the stuff I'm doing and the testing and softwares that I install from those books I got did mess something up, mental note only install when needed.
So remember to always backup your files, if you don't have an extra hard drive you can just burn it if you have a CD or DVD burner. A Fit machine is important especially if you use it all the time and if you're a blogger :P .

"Jesus Saves!" and so should you.

Random Ramblings 12/8

Random Ramblings:

Funny (From Davesdaily.com)

Men Are Like...
...placemats they only show up when there's food on the table.
...mascara they usually run at the first sign of emotion.
...bike helmets they're good in emergencies but usually just look silly.
...government bonds they take so long to mature.
...copiers you need them in reproduction but that's about it.
...lava lamps fun to look at it but not all that bright.
...bank accounts without a lot of money they don't generate a lot of interest.
...high heels they're easy to walk on once you get the hang of it.
...curling irons they're always hot and always in your hair.
...mini skirts if your not careful they'll creep up your legs.
...handguns keep one around long enough and your gonna want to shoot it.

Sad Sad News! A Belgian Shepherd saved the lives of three people from a burning building by waking them up with his bark but the dog perished in the flames. The dog was apparently afraid to jump out of the window.

Sadder Sadder News! An infant died after the mother allegedly put him in the dryer. WTF is right with this story! CRAZY... She should be put not in jail but in a laundromat dryer for Life! Then people can put quarters in and spin her crazy ass.

I read about the guy that got shot by the Air Marshals yesterday, basically the gist is that the air marshals shot a guy that was running in the airport and said something about a “bomb” while the guy’s wife was running after him yelling that the guy is her husband and that he’s crazy. Now I’m sorry for the family of the guy that got shot but if he’s mentally ill then what the hell is he doing flying around? And why didn’t he get his medication? Who was the adult responsible for his medication? If I’m in the airport and somebody yelled “bomb” I’d be freaked out and I’ll probably throw what I’m holding at the guy and hope it knocks him down or something. Better to yell “Fire”, “Rape” or “Flood” than “Bomb” in an airport full of people. I think the Air Marshals did their job and had no choice but to shoot the guy. And I think crazy people or people under medication should be either under supervision or not travel at all as traveling conditions could aggravate their situation. I mean if you're sick will you go fly to another state? No.

What about the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad saying the holocaust didn’t happen and that Israel should move to Europe. Talk about backward thinking and a bigot . Just because their ass can get handed to them by a state that is as small as a… um… a peanut?! he goes out talking shit like that thinking it will make him popular. Well actually it did, I didn’t know or care who the president of Iran is until I read this news. Well he’s till an idiot, a bigot, a loon and he can have a fuck you by Bush (pic coming later).

Fuck You Iranian President with the name I can't pronounce.

Mr. Inranian President, YOU can Derelick this guy's balls you racist bigot bastard. (Derelick taken from Zoolander)

Increase Cash Flow

Wallet Talk Wednesday: "Increase Cash Flow"

For normal people like me, once you have covered the basics on where to put your money:
1. Put money for retirement
2. Put money in investment vehicle (Stocks, Mutual Funds, Bonds, ETF's, Real Estate, REITS, etc.)
3. Put money aside for emergencies (optional for some people)

The next question is HOW DO I INCREASE MY CASHFLOW? Well that's the big question isn't it for most of us in the work force...Increase cash flow for various reasons like buying a new car, the luxury car, buying more expensive clothes, paying the credit card bills, and my personal reason to invest more. There are various ways to do this, here are the ones I actualy thought of and some I have tried:

1. Sell stuff on eBay, craigslist or any online market -I did this and netted me a couple of hundred dollars a month BUT finding what to buy and sell ate a lot of time, and shipping the product too. I mostly traded computer parts and car parts like shift knobs, video cards, memory, light bulbs, etc. etc. I haven't gone back to selling online for a couple of years and I don't think I'll do it again just coz of all the time and research it takes to find the good deals and sell them and ship them.
2. Ask for a promotion - Well depending on your company is it really worth it to ask for one? or will it only net a small gain but larger responsibility? And companies do have their own politics so are you actually involved in politiking? Well I'm not and I don't want more responsibility without the proper amout of salary increase.
3. Ask for a raise - Depending on your standing this would be a good move but if you work for a company that has automated everything and raise comes once a year with set % of increases so it will give you a good nudge but I don't think a 5% raise will affect much of your salary unless you earn six figures already.
4. Improve your skills and move to a different group - This would be a good step if the company is big and you plan or are interested to move into a different group with different skills. Like from developer to project manager. Normally companies do have this lateral movement with an increase in salary when you move to a position. I did try this once but because of the company situation at that time I was not able to move to a different group which pissed me off.
5. Improve your skills and decide what career path you want and work for a different company - This is twhe most effective option to jumpstart your interest in your career and get a bump in salary. And if you actually are working, stay with your company first, it will be a good leverage while looking for another company that you want to work for that will give you what you need and want too. Also expect more responsibilities and more stress to come with a higher salary.
6. Watch your investments and jump on opportunities - I am lucky that only one in my portfolio seems to be down right now (my speculative pick, the coffee company) though I'm a buy and hold investor if any of my holdings do get great gains or rockets within a couple of years I'll be selling it for the profit, of couse I will probably invest the profit back to the market unless there is a need to pull it out but I have a friend who did trade a lot and got good profits from the market which is an addition to his income.

I haven't decided what steps I'll be taking yet but I'll be doing a lot of thinking and by next year I should have decided on what to do.

Workers Wonka! Oompa-loompa lemmings!
In another note, I do notice a lot of people at work says how much their work sucked and all that BS, well if it does suck then look for a different work or work for a different company...the problem is a lot of them is all talk and no action, they can't risk looking for a job because the work has been built in them already and they take it as it is right now. Beings of habit that we are a change in career is very stressful for some people and that they don't realize that the longer they just get stuck the less chance they will have to move on in the future. I mean skill wise already if you get stuck doing only one thing for years and years how the hell will you move to a different company if your skill is outdated? And don't bitch about work when the company's paying your bills too...and you don't do anything about it but whine, moan and groan like a baby. Oh well I'm not out to motivate or solve their wiley ass problems or issues anyways.

Hoe Down!

Hoes and their uses.

Well even though it's days away I've already planned what to do on the weekend in clearing up the roots and the vines left by the weeds I cut last week. I'll probably just hoe it down and spray vegetation killer chemicals to the area to prep it for the wood chops or mulch that I'll be putting soon. While planning it I got stuck on why did they call the Hoe a Hoe????

Hoe
(Noun)
A tool with a flat blade attached approximately at a right angle to a long handle, used for weeding, cultivating, and gardening.
(Verb: Hoed, Hoes)
To weed, cultivate, or dig up with a hoe.

Now let's compare that to the other Hoes....

1. One hoe helps you till the land, the other hoe titillate your mound.
2. One hoe helps you gets rid of bushes, the other hoe stuffs bushes in your face.
3. One hoe cost $10, the other one cost 10 times more.
4. One hoe is used for digging, the other hoe is used for screwing.
5. One hoe doesn't care how many times you bang it on the ground, the other hoe doesn't care too...bang it anywhere and everywhere..
6. One hoe is something you work with, the other hoe is something you work on.
7. One hoe can be used and reused once bought, the other hoe can be used and reused (as long as you have chaching$$$)
8. One hoe is used for gardening, the other hoe is used for hardening.
9. One hoe is a tool, the other hoe can sometimes be a tool.
10. One hoe has no excuse, the other hoe always says they do it to pay for college.

What's the difference between the 3 hoes? One of them is a gardening tool.

Weed Pull

Fittness Day Monday: "Different kind of Pulls!"

It was a good week for workouts, I actually had 2 sessions of an hour cardio last week, no weights though coz I spent a lot of time doing backyard work on the weekend. It was well worth it and it did felt like a workout, pulling the roots of those wild blackberries and the vines of those, I don't know what vines they are but they are messing up the backyard. There is still a lot to do though that I'm thinking of chemical blasting the area to kill any vegetation since I'm not planning to plant anything there just to put wood chops so it can be a space to be used for walking and stuff, and I don't want to maintain a fancy backyard too, that's what actually happened here, the original owner had a fancy backyard and wasn't maintained in the long run so it was overtaken by weeds and stuff..... My body is little sore right now specially my arms due to pulling out weeds and sawing unwanted trees and shrubs so I'll skip working out today and instead start tomorrow. I do feel more active and lighter now so it's a good thing. Health is Wealth, that's what they say, well "If you're Healthy and you're working clap your hands" Clap! Clap!

Kitty Paws December 4

Tommy's Sunday Speak : "We're Leopards, Fear Us!"

Kiss Our Leopardy Butts.....

Pussy Kat Tommy the Black Leopard

Pussy Cat Tigger the Yellow Leopard

Ever since daddy cleared up a large part of the back yard kat brother tigger and I have been playing the Leopard brothers. This is a game we made up since leopard lives and climbs on trees and bring their food there we decided to act like them. We've been going up and down and running around trying to catch birds, but my left leg is kinda limp now so I can't catch them yet. Maybe soon when I'm better I'll be able to catch birds and stuff, I love climbing trees and watching dad clean up the back yard, sometimes I'll try and grab his feet but he always wear rubber boots when he does backyard work so he doesn't feel me scratching him. But anyways we are Leopards hear us ROAR!!!! Aren't we just cutties!!!!

My Serpentine

She,
Slowly slithers
Round my body
Reaches my skull,
Tightening,
Twisting my head.
Binding my mind
Breaking my bones.

I,
In this ecstatic
Agony,
Waiting in numbness.
For My Lady
To Bring
Pain anew

Friday's the Day

Forget Fancy Friday's as we don't always have much fancy things going on. It'll just be Friday's the day going forward....

FRIDAY's THE DAY:

We remember our Lovable, Cute and Cuddly Pussy Cat Bruce. He was a great cat who hunted gophers, mice, lizards, flies and birds. Never was scared of people and walked the roads of Danville like he owned them. He just never returned home and we were not able to find him in any animal shelter, his fate will be of the wild. Power to the Pets.

CELEBRATE that Ramit Sethi of I will Teach You to Be Rich used one of my suggestions for his Seminar and he's giving me a copy of his "Top 11 Things Every College Graduate Should Know", I'll read it and have my younger brother, who'll graduate from college next year, read it too. Thank you again to Ramit for using one of my entries.

That I can stop thinking about work...no not really, they gave me a phone and remote access for those "Just In Case Shit Happens" and I got to login and fix stuff :P

That I can spend time bumming around with wifey and our pets...definitely

That I'll be sleeping longer hours....partly true, but I do like waking up early, force of habit?

Precursor to doing nothing days...I wish that was the case, backyard work, review on stuff, study for stuff and house cleaning.

See how easy Blogger is, I started this thread via email.....nice ;)

Random Ramblings!

I just realized that any updates on the same blog should be put on top.

MOZILLA FIREFOX 1.5 is now available on the web too. It's a nice browser, better than IE. Download it now! More competition for IE....force them to make better browsers....

Jealous...A friend of mine from Norway is going to another country for around a month starting this Saturday, nice vacation time....WTF....why can't we have those long vacations here?? Oh yeah our tax dollars are funding the war in Iraq....and economy isn't all that great........

I just opened
up a Blog Rolling account. I'm not putting it on my blog though coz it's run on javascript and I have javascript and activeX set on either disables or prompt before being run which I normally don't enable coz I'm paranoid and a nerd like that ;). Blogroll Me!

Funny news, HUGE condom enters Florida!

Robert Kiyosucky have a new article in Yahoo which is just full of fluff as always, I don't know why Yahoo still have him there??? Here's my position on him, to add to that if Kiyosucky did what he said and he FOCUSED during the DOT COM days in the late 90's then got out before the bust he would probably have got into the Forbes 400 list and would be known as a credible investor BUT funny thing is that he's had his Book since 90's, selling his game since 90's and should have a lot to leverage already into other investments BUT until now he's not even a Dell, Buffet, Trump or Soros what a LLLLLOOOOOSSSSERRRRR! What happened to the companies that he took public? Oh right he lied about that. The real estate company that he owns? Oh yeah it's probably a small company in Phoenix. Pls. note that I don't like the guy because he talks to people on how to get rich on things he didn't do, it's like Donald Trump making a book on how to have a successful marriage and getting rich coz of it.

You know you live in California when...
1. You make over $250,000 and you still can't afford to buy a house. --> Now is a good time to buy, housing market is soft and a condo is pretty cheap at $500K a pop ;) <--

2. The high school quarterback calls a time-out to answer his cell phone. --> Not anymore, he's knocked unconcious <--
3. The fastest part of your commute is going down your driveway. --> Nah, it's faster to telecommute ;) this is the hub of technology biaotch <--
4. You know how to eat an artichoke. --> We know how to eat chicken feet, OX's tongue, Fish Head, Noodles with meat, fish and chicken too.... so what's your point? <--
5. You drive to your neighborhood block party. --> Yeah gotta show those Dubs on the civic biaotch <--
6. Someone asks you how far away something is; you tell them how long it will take to get there rather than how many miles away it is. --> Nah, GPS baby, GPS.... and mapquest <-- Ohhh I'm
